For over 40 years, Hepburn Orchards has been owned and operated
by the Hepburn family of Hancock, Maryland. Their old-time fruit market
located just off I-70 (near the eastern terminus of I-68 from
Morgantown, WV, and Cumberland, MD) is a favorite stop for tourists and
travelers at this important and historic junction point. The Western
Maryland Rail Trail, which runs directly behind Hepburn's market
complex, is also a popular attraction to the area offering about 25
miles of paved right-of-way for cyclists along the former Western
Maryland Railway main line. Hepburn's friendly market not only offers
the finest of fresh local produce, seasonal bedding plants, and
home-made pies; but also a variety of quality Maryland and regional
souvenirs - including, of course, the RR Trax Studios book on the
Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, along with a limited
number of author-signed copies of Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad
- A Tribute.
