2012 and Railroading is Still Interesting! While railfans and historians frequently lament the passing of the “good old days,” there still is plenty to keep us interested in the modern world of railroading. Well OK, maybe it is because this is a throwback to the old days, but check out these recent arrivals at the Georges Creek Railway at Barton, Maryland, not too far the RR Trax Studios’ home office in Cumberland. The tracks are being repaired for the eventual start-up of coal and freight traffic on the former WM Railway Georges Creek Branch, so it may soon be possible to photograph coal trains powered by Western Maryland locomotives on WM rails -- just like in the good old days. Stay tuned!
